Being your own cheerleader is about nurturing a positive relationship with yourself and cultivating the self-belief needed to thrive in all areas of life. In words, this can be described as self love and having a kinder inner voice. Life can be unfair and developing this mindset will help support yourself through both the highs and lows of life. There is a lot of simple techniques that can be practiced to build this, but below mentioned are the most important :

  1. Practice Self-Compassion: Treat yourself with kindness and understanding, especially during failures and challenging times. This can be hard in the face of a failure/mistake . However, the first step of getting up/moving on after you have fallen down is acknowledging your efforts and progress, even if you haven't reached your goals yet.

  2. Kinder inner voice:  Everyone has a inner voice and its up to us to make it kind. Pay attention to your inner dialogue and challenge negative self-talk. Replace self-criticism with affirmations and encouraging statements. For example, instead of saying, "I can't do this," say, "I'm capable, and I can learn how to do this."

  3. Build an emotional safety net : Surround Yourself with supportive friends, family members, or mentors who believe in you and your abilities. Their encouragement can bolster your confidence and motivation. In addition, have a emotional fall back strategies which will help you overcome the failure like practising gratitude, setting realistic goals and focusing on your strengths.

Above all, Prioritise self-care activities that nourish your body, mind, and soul. When you feel physically and emotionally well, you're better equipped to cheer yourself on and tackle challenges with resilience.

This is one strategy will help you face the world head on even if you are all alone in your journey!
